  1. GENERAL EDUCATION (GED) COURSES
Students must take the following eleven GED Courses (36 credits):
Course CodeCourse TitleCredit Hr.Prerequisites
      I) University Requirement Courses (3 Courses,12 credits) A student must obtain a minimum band score 6.0 (equivalent to ‘C’ grade) to pass in both the Intensive English–I (ENG 1105) and Intensive English–II (ENG 1207). The band score grades will be converted to equivalent grades of the university’s grading system. The student will have to achieve at least a ‘C’ grade in the University Requirement Courses separately, since less than ‘C’ grades (like ‘C-‘, ‘D+’ and ‘D’) are considered as probationary grades. If the students fail to achieve the required grades, they will have to continue retaking these courses until they achieve minimum ‘C’ grade. However, while retaking these courses, the students will be allowed to take any other new courses along with these courses. It is to be noted that Intensive English-I (ENG 1105) is prerequisite of Intensive English-II (ENG 1207), hence, students must obtain a minimum grade ‘C’ in Intensive English-I (ENG 1105) to register for Intensive English-II (ENG 1207).Students completing two courses on Intensive English with at least 7.5 band score (Grade Point 3.00) will be given certificate from the university in recognition of their successful completion of these courses.A student already has IELTS score of 6.0 or above will equivalently be evaluated and exempted from Intensive English-I and Intensive English-II course. The students especially from English medium or English version may seek exemption of English courses with a requisite amount of fees. In this case, The Institute of English Language will take an examination on English Language before the course registration. The examination will have two parts, one for Intensive English-I and the other part for Intensive English-II. The students who will pass the first part will get exemption of Intensive English-I, and who will pass the second part will get exemption of Intensive English-II.
